The making of our store: TINCT

TINCT

It’s been a big year for Rosie and Ben Broad, the brother-sister team behind Tinct. They launched their first collection of English-made leather bags in July 2015. It’s now stocked in some of London’s top stores including The Conran Shop and Gather & See. Now they’re upping the ante with a ten day pop-up shop in Chelsea showcasing new additions to the Tinct collection. We caught up with Rosie and Ben in the run up to launch to find out exactly what went into the making of their store.

We started at…

6am. Down in Sussex. With a big empty van waiting to be packed.

We ate…

Carrot cake. A whole big family one between the two of us. And then some good ole-fashioned carb-ey Italian. LOTS.

We drank…

Litres of water (it was so darn hot). Litres of coffee. Litres of wine (maybe just one).

Listened to…

Django Reinhardt.

Got inspired by…

Our lovely friends next door at Cabbages & Roses.

Panicked about…

Embossing items upside down.

Laughed at…

Embossing items upside down.

Were proud of…

The fact that people think we’re a permanent shop.

Worked with…

A whole host of incredible people who are also displaying in the shop: Hedon Helmets & their achingly cool motorcycle head gear, Harriet Slaughter of Bold Oxlip with her incredible flowers and Matilda Goad with her timeless Botanical prints.

Best moment…

The first sale from a lovely customer who bought a wallet to wish us luck, and set us on the right path.

Everyone should visit because…

We’ve got a whole other carrot cake. And really shouldn’t eat it all ourselves, again.
