The Five at Five: Louise Markey

28 oct. 2021

From hidden-gems to places to people-watch, from bookshops to beauty spots – here is some inspiration, celebrating the independents in our local neighbourhoods around the world.

This week’s selection has been curated by Louise Markey, the founder of the East London fashion brand, LF Markey. Sydney-born, East London based, Louise went on to consult for global luxury fashion houses after graduating from Central St Martins with an MA. But it wasn’t too long before she launched her own womenswear label.

“Running my own label has been something I have wanted to do from a very young age,” explains Louise. “It's a combination of having very specific tastes and interests, and also loving being my own boss. I'm happiest when I'm working odd hours and juggling lots of different projects so having my business is a perfect pastime for me.”

Keeping it local, Louise shares her favourite spots in East London.
