The Five at Five: Ana Andjelic
19 nov. 2020
The Five at Five is a download of the best things to read, watch, shop, and get inspiration from. This week’s selections have been curated by Ana Andjelic, author of “The Business of Aspiration” and one of Forbes's The World's Most Influential CMOs who specializes in building brand-driven modern businesses.
Here’s what’s keeping her inspired.
Read: "How to Do Nothing: Resisting the Attention Economy" by Jenny Odell, because it's about what we pay our attention to (and how we spend it) and how that impacts our lives and happiness.
Watch: "Devil's Backbone" by Guillermo Del Toro, because it's a metaphor about Spanish Civil War coated in the guise of a horror movie. I see a lot of parallels with what we are going through socially, culturally and politically right now in America.
Listen: Jazz. Classical music.
Shop: Books. “Distracted from distraction by distraction,” T.S. Eliot said about books. I agree. Books are a great distraction from distraction of the Internet, social media scrolling and our life.
Inspiration: City dwelling. I am a modern flaneur. I get inspiration from other people, places, scenes, smells and atmosphere of New York.
