Grain & Knot

After quitting her job in 2013, Sophie Sellu was inspired by a spoon carving workshop, and 6 months later launched Grain & Knot, selling her own spoons and hand-carved homewares online. After winning Appear Here's Space for Ideas competition she launched her first store on Ledbury Road, Notting Hill. She wanted a place where she could meet her customers in person and learn what they liked about her brand. She ended up selling more in 2 weeks than she would in 4 months.
